Dentistry
Proper dental care is essential in keeping your pet healthy. Periodontal disease is the most frequently diagnosed health problem for pets. Periodontal disease can lead to other more serious health problems such as heart and kidney disease.

Hospitalization
If your pet becomes ill and requires hospitalization our highly trained staff will provide extensive care for him or her. A staff member is designated each day to help the veterinarian with his or her care and even comes in after hours to walk and medicate if necessary. We always encourage phone calls and visits with your babies, and try to keep your pet calm and give you some peace of mind. Each patient is sent home with a report card that shows you how their stay went and what procedures were done.

*After hours – our staff is not permitted to be here after 10:00 pm but if your pet needs around the clock care he or she can be transferred to Southern Crescent Animal Emergency Clinic in Fayetteville, Ga.

Microchipping
Has your pet ever slipped out of his or her collar? Losing a pet can be a difficult and scary time for you and your family. Getting your pet microchipped is an easy way to identify your pet and get him/her back to you. Microchipping is a simple procedure that takes less than 10 minutes but can ensure your pet’s return to you. Being as small as a grain of rice, your pet will never even know that it’s there.

Puppies and Kittens
Help your new puppy or new kitten stay cute by giving them the best start. You can do this by bringing them in for their well pet visit. At your first visit with your new puppy or kitten we not only get them started on their preventative vaccines but we also get you started by sending you with a complimentary Puppy/Kitten kit. Your kit includes your pets’ first dose of heartworm prevention, first dose of flea/tick control, a sample pack of Science Diet puppy or kitten food, and a folder full of valuable information and brochures.

Radiology/Ultrasound
We offer digital x-rays and ultrasound. These tools are helpful in a full evaluation of problems or illness the pet may be experiencing. Doctors can better detect these such as pregnancies, masses, tumors, foreign bodies, and kidney or bladder stones.

Senior Wellness Program
As your pets age, their health can rapidly change. Early detection can help in disease prevention and can minimize suffering. Our senior wellness program includes bloodwork panels that allow us an insight into how your pets liver, kidneys and pancreas are functioning, thyroid test, heartworm test for canines, combo test for felines, urinalysis, electrocardiogram, tonometry to evaluate eye pressure and a blood pressure screen for felines to check for hypertension. Our doctors will also discuss treatment plans, nutrition, and joint supplements with you in order to keep your furry companion feeling well long into their senior years.

Spaying/Neutering
Not spaying or neutering your pet only helps to fill our animal shelters. By spaying/neutering your pet you help to decrease the population in the local shelters and keep them healthier. Typically, a spayed/neutered pet can return to their fun, happy lives within a few days. Their risks of developing mammary tumors, ovarian cancer, uterine cancer, testicular cancer and prostate diseases are greatly reduced by spaying/neutering your pet. Therefore, spaying or neutering your pet will increase his/her chances of living a longer and healthier life.

Surgery
Your pet may require surgery at some point in their lives. We perform everything from dentals, spays, and neuters to exploratory surgeries in our fully equipped surgical suite. We have specially trained staff to assist in every surgery preformed to ensure that your pet gets the best care possible. Pre-anesthetic bloodwork is performed on every pet before going into surgery to ensure that there is no underlying issue that would cause your pet difficulty in processing the anesthesia. Each surgical patient is sent home with information regarding after care as well as medications to ward off pain and possible infection.

Wellness and vaccination programs
One of the best things you can do for your pet is to keep him/her healthy. An easy way to do so is by bringing in your pet for regular exams, vaccinations and wellness screens. That way, many diseases/viruses can be prevented and some health issues can be found before symptoms present themselves leading to quicker treatment.

Preventive Services
A simple way you can keep your pet healthy is by protecting him/her against parasites. Fleas, ticks, heartworms and other parasites are much more than just pests. They often can cause life-threatening conditions in your pet and cause severe health problems for you and your family. Did you know that most heartworm treatment could cost upwards of $1000? Using once monthly preventatives can help save you money as well!

Boarding
Planning a vacation and worried about who will watch your pet while you are away? Having over fifty kennels/runs for canines and eight kennels for felines we would be happy to care for your pet while you are away.

As well as having over fifty kennels for your canine friends, we have two fenced yards for them to stretch their legs. Our ‘Basic Boarding’ option allows your dog yard time twice daily – once in the morning and once in the evening. Should you choose to ‘Upgrade’ your dog, he or she will be allowed out three times daily with 15 minutes of additional play time out in the yard around noon. Your dog gets to choose the activity he or she prefers whether that be fetch, lap time, brushing or just catching some rays. If you are bringing more than one dog, we do have double runs that are considerably larger to ensure the comfort of multiple dogs. Families will also be able to go outside to explore the yard together. While we would love for all dogs to get along, it isn’t always the case. Therefore, dogs are taken out individually unless they are family to ensure their safety.
